My teaching focuses on love, relationships, and social justice.

For the past few years, I have taught How to Love: The Art and Science of Love and Intimacy at California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB). The course is only open to CSUMB students in the fall/spring semesters, however interested community members are encouraged to take the class online in the summer/winter sessions when prerequisites are waived.

Given the popularity of the course, I have started a newsletter, which will debut in 2023. There, I’ll share monthly love lessons from the course as well as thoughts I couldn’t fit into the class. To sign up for the newsletter, please subscribe here. Based on the persistent nudges of my students, I am a working on a book based on the class, which I expect to complete in 2024.

This course has been adapted for short workshops, retreats, and for community audiences. Please check back here for 2023 workshops in the Bay Area and online.

To learn more about the course, please read articles published in the Monterey Bay Magazine, the Monterey County Weekly, CSUMB’s website, and the Lutrinae, CSUMB’s student newspaper.

In academia, I have also taught Social Psychology and Social Justice, Advanced Research Methods, and other Psychology core courses. My teaching centers the scholarship and writing of underserved/underrepresented people.

In addition, I teach yoga, meditation, and reiki to diverse communities across the globe. I regularly use mindfulness in the classroom as a free tool that can serve students in times of stress and (dis)ease.
